What is the NHS?

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) founded the NHS in 1921 to recognize and promote student excellence in leadership, intellectual growth, academic achievement, character and service.  The Drexel R-IV chapter, chartered in 1978, inducts new members each year following first semester.

Requirements for NHS membership

Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5.   These candidates receive a candidate’s packet to complete and return to the Adviser. A five-member Faculty Council makes membership selections based on leadership, service, and character information submitted by the candidates.   Members must continue to maintain the standards by which they were selected and to have at least 40 service hours per year.
